Safeguarding
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Miss D. Howarth
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility at Peel Hall Primary School. We are fully committed to ensuring that all children are protected from harm and are able to learn in a safe, secure and supportive environment.
Our Safeguarding Commitment
We recognise our statutory duties under Keeping Children Safe in Education and work in line with the procedures of the Salford Safeguarding Children Partnership. Robust systems and procedures are in place to identify, assess and respond to concerns, ensuring that all children receive the right support at the right time.
Safeguarding Leadership
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and deputy DSLs have lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection. They provide advice and support to staff, liaise with external agencies and make referrals where appropriate to ensure that children and families are protected and supported.
Staff Training and Vigilance
All staff receive regular safeguarding and child protection training and understand their role in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking appropriate action. Staff are aware that safeguarding concerns can arise at any time and in any context, including online, and that children may be at risk of harm both inside and outside of the home.
A Whole-School Approach
We adopt a whole-school approach to safeguarding, where safeguarding underpins all aspects of school life. This includes a strong focus on preventative education through our curriculum, promoting healthy relationships, respect, equality and online safety, and preparing pupils for life in modern Britain.
Working in Partnership
We work closely with parents, carers and a range of external agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils, recognising the importance of timely information sharing and effective multi-agency working.
Safer Recruitment
Safer recruitment procedures are in place to ensure that all staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children, and all safeguarding arrangements are regularly reviewed and monitored by senior leaders and governors.
