Curriculum Intent
In everything we do, we set high expectations for all pupils under our care and guidance. As a result, we ensure all pupils develop a love for learning.
Our pupils are incredibly precious to us and we understand how important it is that they develop as happy, well-rounded individuals. We enjoy working alongside our parents to enable their children to thrive here as they become successful and engaged young people and lifelong learners.
We are committed to securing equity and improving pupils’ life opportunities by developing the knowledge and experiences that allow them to make connections with their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development to progress successfully into their next stage of life and learning.
Therefore, we provide:
- A strong foundation in reading, writing, mathematics and communication skills;
- A word-rich environment to expand vocabulary and encourage reading;
- A curriculum which ensures knowledge and understanding of the world around them;
- A curriculum which values subject specialisms and subject disciplines to enable pupils to develop knowledge and of the wide range of training and employment opportunities which they can aspire to in the future;
- A wide range of enriching cultural activities and local experiences that are part of our cultural literacy, chosen to enhance and help pupils make connections between their world, society and culture;
- A curriculum which nurtures all elements of personal development and the sense of community and social voice required to thrive as adults.
- Adaptions to meet the needs of children with send. Ensuring we are as inclusive as possible and all children feel supported and enabled to access learning in a way that meets their individual needs.
When children leave Peel Hall, we want them to be independent and interdependent learners and thinkers who have a range of skills, knowledge and values, which are an integral part of our school community.
